Food Alliances

What is a Local Food Alliance?

In Pennsylvania, 26 counties are represented by a local food alliance. Local food alliances play a critical role in the effort to ensure every Pennsylvanian has nutrition security for themselves and their families. Food alliances work at a local level to identify needs, resources, and opportunities to eliminate gaps in food security. Outlined in the Blueprint for a Hunger-Free PA, it is Pennsylvania's goal to have a food alliance in every county and/or region in the state by 2020. In order to reach this objective, food alliances are convening to share strategies, inform of their progress, and encourage others to keep making strides to end hunger in Pennsylvania.
