County Nursing Facility Safety Net Payment
In fiscal year (FY) 2016-2017 the Department of Human Services (department) began making safety net payments to qualifying county nursing facilities to recognize and encourage their historical roles as critical safety net providers for the Medical Assistance population in this commonwealth. The criteria for a facility to qualify for the safety net payment and the payment methodology for calculation of the safety net payment can be found in the public notice for the fiscal year. Beginning FY 2017-2018, there is an adjustment in the payment methodology to account for the transition to the department's new managed care program, Community HealthChoices effective January 1, 2018
