Meet Ricky

Ricky lived in a state care facility for decades. With help from DHS' Office of Developmental Programs, he has moved into his community.

Now, Ricky keeps busy through volunteer work, which is coordinated through the Adult Community Autism Program and Keystone Autism Services.

Monday through Wednesday, he helps sort produce, baby supplies, and canned goods for Project SHARE in Carlisle. He also volunteers at Carlisle Fire & Rescue Services by helping set up banquets and weekly Bingo nights. He also helps clean the fire trucks.

Ricky has made friends at these venues and is a dedicated worker. He will be meeting with his job developer who will help him determine his strengths, needs, and interests in order to obtain competitive and integrated employment in Carlisle.
