Consolidated, Community Living, and Person/Family Directed Services (P/FDS) Waivers Submitted to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
On April 13th, 2021 the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) submitted the proposed Consolidated and P/FDS waiver amendments to CMS. On April 20, 2021, the proposed Community Living waiver amendment was submitted to CMS. The submitted waivers include modifications that were made as a result of public comment from about 160 stakeholders that consisted of individuals and self-advocates, families, agencies, and organizations. CMS has 90 days to review the submission of the waivers and changes may occur to the content based upon discussions with CMS during the approval process. It is anticipated that the waiver amendments will be effective July 1, 2021. ODP will inform all stakeholders when CMS has officially approved the Consolidated, Community Living, and P/FDS waivers and will make the approved waivers available at that time.
Since Appendix K flexibilities are still implemented, the following will continue to be implemented through Appendix K and will be included in a future waiver amendment: remote service delivery, the provision of services while a participant is hospitalized and the allowance for Supports Coordination Organizations to be Organized Health Care Delivery Systems.
