September 11-17 is Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week. This week, Department of Human Services honors those who provide essential support to help keep individuals with disabilities connected to their family, friends, and community and enable them to live meaningful lives in a community of their choice. Direct support professionals are vital to the physical and mental health and well-being of individuals of all ages with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities who receive services so that they can live everyday lives with the dignity that we all deserve.
