HealthChoices Coverage and Benefits:
What kind of coverage is provided?
Services include primary and specialty care, preventative care, dental care, prescriptions and behavioral health services. Medicaid coverage meets national standards for coverage.
Will my children's coverage be changing?
No, coverage for children (up to age 21) will remain the same.

Will I be able to get health coverage if I have a pre-existing condition?
How will my doctor know that I have health care coverage?
Your doctor will be able to check the department's eligibility verification system (EVS) which will indicate your eligibility for health care coverage and if you are enrolled in a HealthChoices health plan. When you are enrolled in HealthChoices, your plan will mail you a health care card (if you do not have one already).
Can I see a doctor before I receive my cards?
Yes. Your eligibility notice that you receive from the department will include your ID# (also called your ACCESS Number). That number should be provided to your doctor.
